The first visit includes:
An extensive medical history
Tongue, pulse and body diagnosis
Acupuncture treatment
Nutrition and herbal recommendations
Herbal medicines help to heal by improving
resistance to infection and balancing organ system functions. Herbs rarely
cause negative side effects.
Number of Treatments
You may need as many as 2 or 3 treatments per week for acute conditions, or
1 or 2 visits per month for chronic conditions. This depends on the nature,
severity and history of your condition. You may feel immediate relief, or
the healing may take more time.
Acupuncture Needles
The
needles used are thin, sterile, disposable stainless steel. The diameter of
the needle is much smaller than the period at the end of this sentence.
Sometimes, you don’t even know the needle has been inserted. You may notice
warmth, heaviness, tingling, achiness, or a mild electrical zing. There may
be a brief sensation of pain, which will quickly subside. Typically, needles
remain in place for 20 to 30 minutes, providing you time to relax, meditate
or nap.
