Oriental
Medicine is a comprehensive medical system including acupuncture, herbal
medicine and massage therapy. Oriental Medicine is used to diagnose and
treat illness or injury. Acupuncture helps balance emotions and create a
greater sense of well-being by restoring harmony to both body and mind. Many
conditions can be corrected before drugs or surgery become necessary.
Qi
(chi) is the vital energy coursing through your body. Meridians are the
pathways through which the Qi travels. Acupuncture points are places along
the meridians which, when stimulated, promote the free flow of Qi. This
energy flow can be compared to that of water in a stream. When the water
flows freely, the body feels energetic and harmonized. Like dammed up water,
Qi may be obstructed in the meridians, and the sensation of pain results.
Obstructions are caused by stress, emotions, injury and organ dysfunctions.
Acupuncture
is one of the most time-honored forms of medicine in the world. It has been
in existence for over 3000 years in China. In the West, people often turn to
acupuncture when other forms of medicine have not produced the desired
results.
